Charles Esten announces 2024 UK/Europe tour

Multi-talented singer-songwriter and actor Charles Esten has today announced that he will be returning to the UK/Europe in April 2024, for headline shows in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. Commenting on his return to the UK and Europe, Esten shared, “Some of my earliest musical performances were way back in 1991 playing Buddy Holly in the hit West End musical ‘BUDDY’. That’s when I began my love affair with UK audiences who – quite literally – danced in the aisles. Four years ago, I was pretty heartbroken when the first COVID lockdowns meant that my debut C2C O2 Arena headline performance was to be cancelled, and ever since that day, I have been dreaming of and praying for a return to the UK. That dream first came true in October when I was blessed to be a part of the amazing Nashville Reunion Tour. Then, as that was successfully wrapping up, I received the confirmed schedule for my own return solo tour. And I damn near cried. I am chuffed, over the moon, and thrilled to bits to be returning to play my music in the country that for two magical years, I got my start in and called my home.” Check out the full tour dates below: Charles Esten’s 2024 UK/European Tour Dates: Sat., 20 Apr. – Usher Hall | Edinburgh, UK Mon., 22 Apr. – Royal Concert Hall | Glasgow, UK Wed., 24 Apr. – The Glasshouse at TheSage | Gateshead, UK Fri., 26 Apr. – Palladium | London, UK Sat., 27 Apr. – O2 Academy | Bristol, UK Mon., 29 Apr. – Lowry Lyric Theatre | Salford, UK Tue., 30 Apr. – Town Hall | Birmingham, UK Thu., 2 May – Tivoli/Vredenburg – Grote Zaal | Utrecht, Netherlands Fri., 3 May – Fabrik | Hamburg, Germany Sat., 4 May – Im Wizemann Halle | Stuttgart, Germany Mon., 6 May – Circus Krone | Munich, Germany Tue., 7 May – Carlswerk Victoria | Cologne, Germany Thu., 9 May – DR Studio 2 | Copenhagen, Denmark Fri., 10 May – Kulturkirken Jakob | Oslo, Norway The tour will follow the January 26th release of his highly anticipated independent debut album, ‘Love Ain’t Pretty’. A project more than ten years in the making, the album began taking shape when Esten first arrived in Music City to play ‘Deacon Claybourne’ on ABC/CMT’s ‘Nashville’. Esten explores life, love, and the passing of time through the lens of a travelled and tested everyman, who has never lost his innate sense of wonder, or his wide-open soul over the course of all fourteen songs. Working in tandem with hitmakers like Jon Nite, Eric Paslay, Gary Burr, Leslie Satcher, and more, Esten co-wrote all tracks on the forthcoming album. Vividly detailed and filled with the emotional daring of a celebrated storyteller, Charles dives into wide-ranging themes of earth-shattering romance, big-picture reflection, and more. Dustin Lynch scores his ninth number one with ‘Stars Like Confetti’

Dustin Lynch shines atop the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart this week with ‘Stars Like Confetti’ Marking his ninth US career number one on country radio, he also reigns number one on the Countrytown Hot 50 in Australia.   Mixing nostalgia and the passion of young love into a blast of upbeat country-rock, the Josh Thompson, Thomas Rhett, and Zach Crowell-penned track is tailor-made for his live shows. Also produced by Crowell, the ringing guitars and classic dobro meet a pounding pulse as the heartbeat to Lynch’s bursting vocal, full of energy and ready to move fans. Likewise, the Chris Hicky-directed music video shows Lynch in his element, surrounded by festival-goers from Country Jam USA 2022 (Eau Claire, WI) as the life of the party – like he’s done for the past 10 years. Whether connecting before the concert, thrilling a crowd onstage, or creating the soundtrack to a starry-eyed couple’s love story, the proven entertainer has never been more magnetic or more in tune with the moments that define forever-kind of memories. First heard on Lynch’s 2022 release ‘Blue In The Sky (Broken Bow Records)’, which delivered his previous smash hit and six-week number collaboration ‘Thinking ‘Bout You (feat. MacKenzie Porter)’ and ‘Party Mode,’ Lynch’s brand-new statement-making sixth studio album, ‘Killed The Cowboy’, is out now.         To read more exclusive articles and latest news, see our last issue here. Mary Gauthier’s career retrospective to start in 2024

In these unique career retrospective shows, Mary will perform a selection of audience favourites from all eleven of her studio records, accompanied by her partner, Jaimee Harris, who will also open the shows.   Like the troubadours of old, Mary will sing her much loved songs under the spotlight, telling stories of her thirty years of performing her own music around the world, an experience that has helped her understand and personally experience the redemptive power of songs and songwriting. From spending her 18th birthday sitting in a Salina, KS jail cell to standing next to John Prine at the GRAMMYs. What reads as a screenplay for a Hollywood blockbuster is a life actually lived by the true troubadour, Mary Gauthier.   Carrying on Woody Guthrie’s legacy, Mary continues to inspire audiences around the world with the simple idea that a guitar and a song are the strongest of steady weapons on the path to both personal and universal freedom.   Her latest album, ‘Dark Enough To See The Stars’, was released to glowing reviews in 2022, including The Sun who said: “Navigating our complicated world is hard but made a little easier by Gauthier.”  And Entertainment Focus, who declared Mary “One of the great storytellers and songwriters of our age.” Her recent book ‘Saved by a Song’, excerpts from which will feature in these shows, was named as a “must read” by Rolling Stone Magazine.   For over thirty years, Mary Gauthier has turned to songs and stories to help her untangle the traumatic mysteries of her life — most notably adoption trauma and addiction. Not long after getting sober, she began to use songwriting as a superhighway to find purpose in her life. Music and song helped her heal from the wounds that made her an addict. She then used her personal experience to help wounded veterans and their families tell their stories in song. Thirty-four years sober now, Mary brings her long-term recovery to the stage in this special show to talk about alchemy, redemption, and the art of songwriting as a form of salvation.     To read more exclusive articles and latest news, see our last issue here. Lainey Wilson announces ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’ as her next single

GRAMMY-nominated singer songwriter Lainey Wilson has announced ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’ as her next single, following Wilson’s television debut performance of the song at the 57th Annual CMA Awards, in Nashville, Tennessee last week. As the third single off her critically acclaimed, award-winning album, ‘Bell Bottom Country’, ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’ is a reflective tale of Wilson’s life; “barefoot and bareback”. The soulful yet Southern track, accompanied by Wilson’s signature sound, blends elements of Western, Rock, and Americana, to bring forth a modern but stil traditional country song as an ode to her roots. Wilson also earned her first ever nominations for the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards last week. Wilson’s ‘Bell Bottom Country’ landed a nomination for Best Country Album and her collaboration on Jelly Roll’s ‘Save Me’ scored a nod for Country Duo/Group Performance. These two nominations follow on the heels of her five wins including Entertainer Of The Year and Album Of The Year at this year’s CMA Awards.     To read more exclusive articles and latest news, see our last issue here. Kenny Chesney ‘Sun Goes Down’ 2024 Tour

Old Friends, New Friends, No Shoes Nation Kenny Chesney knows how to throw the summer into high gear. Having spent last spring and early summer with his taking-it-to-the-roots ‘I Go Back 2023 Tour’ of those arenas and markets where he rose to major headlining status, the only country artist to be on Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Artists of the Last 25 Years for the past 14 years is bringing old friends and new to 18 stadiums with a few more major surprises to come. Joining Chesney is the Zac Brown Band, enjoying their 12th CMA Group of the Year nomination; 2023 CMA Song of the Year and New Artist nominee Megan Moroney; and multiple-week No. 1 ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ duet partner Uncle Kracker, known for his own hits ‘Follow Me’ and ‘Drift Away.’ “I wanted a name that suggested – obviously – when all the good stuff starts to happen. The one thing I’ve learned about No Shoes Nation and these stadium shows is they start the good times early and they just keep it going,” Chesney says of his 2024 tour name. “But we all know, when the sun goes down, that’s when people really get loose and enjoy themselves. “That was the thing about Uncle Kracker and my song. It captured a vibe and a moment so perfectly. No matter how much fun you’re having all day long, ‘everything gets hotter when the sun goes down…’ I know from years of experience that’s true. “So, I can’t wait to get back out there, stadium-sized ’cause there’s nothing like 60,000 members of No Shoes Nation singing these songs. It’s gonna be awesome.” Kicking off April 20, 2024 at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, the tour will run through August 23 at Foxborough, Mass.’s Gillette Stadium for what has become a tradition: closing out the tour in a venue Chesney has played to well over a million people. Tickets for these major stadium shows will go on-sale next Friday, Nov. 17. “Zac Brown Band understands high-energy country, the same way Alabama did, and they’ve got our friend Caroline Jones in their line-up now, too,” Chesney says of the group joining as direct support. “Megan Moroney isn’t just one of the smart new voices in country, she’s really bringing a sense of heart and joy to the music – and I’m fired up to be bringing her out to No Shoes Nation. “And Uncle Kracker has been part of so many fun times, crazy moments and memories made, it always kicks things up a notch when he’s out there with us. So, it really is old friends, new friends and a whole lotta love.”     To read more exclusive articles and latest news, see our last issue here. Gareth Dunlop Announces London Show on November 16th

Belfast-born singer-songwriter and accomplished producer, Gareth Dunlop, is set to captivate London with his soulful melodies and mesmerising Synth-pop sound. He has announced a full-band headline show at Soho’s The Lower Third, on November 16th 2023. This highly anticipated performance will be supported by powerhouse singer-songwriter Simeon Hammond Dallas.   Dunlop has a unique ability to connect with fans through his recordings, but there is nothing quite like his live performances. Over the years, his talent has been endorsed by a remarkable list of legendary artists, earning Dunlop support slots with music legends such as Van Morrison, Snow Patrol, James Morrison, Stereophonics, Bonnie Raitt, Foy Vance, and Jeff Beck, among others. A headline show from an artist of this calibre in an intimate venue like The Lower Third, is an evening not to be missed.   Gareth Dunlop’s debut album, ‘No. 79’, presented a captivating fusion of folk and soul in a stripped-back fashion. This album earned him critical acclaim and secured playlist placements on several prestigious Irish and UK radio stations. In the Republic of Ireland, the album even secured an Album of the Week slot on the prestigious RTE1. However, his second album, ‘Animal’, displayed how much his music has evolved; layering in the energy and nuances of his new synth-pop/retro sound. Listening to ‘Animal’, it’s astounding that Dunlop achieved such a broad, colourful soundscape without a full band present. Recorded during lockdown at his purpose-built Sycamore Studios in Belfast, ‘Animal’ showcases the level of both production and multi-instrumental skills Dunlop possesses. Other production credits include fellow Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance’s ‘Signs Of Life’ in 2021 and Lee Rogers’ ‘Gameblood’ in 2022.   Dunlop’s two albums (and many EPs) have become a soundtrack to life, featuring on both the big and small screens. His songs have found their way into hit TV series ‘Nashville’, among many other popular shows such as ‘Lucifer’, ‘This Is Us’, ‘Bones’, and ‘Suits’. In addition to TV, his work has been a part of major motion pictures like ‘The Best Of Me’, ‘Safe Haven’, ‘The Visitor’, as well as gracing TV commercials for Disney, Subaru, and more, solidifying his status as a versatile artist.   Spanning an impressive 15-year career, Gareth Dunlop has cultivated a dedicated following with his hit track ‘Wrap Your Arms Around Me’ reaching almost 5 million streams on Spotify.   Inspired by icons such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Tom Waits, plus a soupçon of Pink Floyd, Dunlop’s musical journey began at 14 when he picked up a guitar and began performing both covers and original songs in live venues around Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the rest of the UK. Dunlop went on to win the Young Songwriter of the Year award in Belfast in 2011, an achievement that not only led to collaborations with seasoned writers in Nashville but also saw him employed as a staff writer for major music publishers. Splitting his time between sister cities Belfast and Nashville allowed Dunlop to extensively tour the United States, further expanding his horizons.   As the anticipation builds for Gareth Dunlop’s upcoming London show at The Lower Third, fans can’t help but wonder if this is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting new chapter in his career. With a third album on the horizon, 2024 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year for Dunlop and his ever-growing fanbase.
