Jelly Roll Scores First US Country Radio No. 1

No. 1 hitmaker and multi-genre phenomenon Jelly Roll scores his first No. 1 on US Country radio, as his debut Country single ‘Son Of A Sinner‘ sits at the top of the Billboard and Country Aircheck/MediaBase charts. Following a massive, history-making year that included selling out Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, making his Grand Ole Opry debut, scoring his first Country radio No. 1 and two-week Rock No. 1, and releasing his label-debut album Ballads Of The Broken on BMG/Stoney Creek Records, the Antioch native has more than “cemented his rising mainstream stardom” (Tennessean). Amassing more than 4 Billion career streams, Jelly Roll’s ‘Son Of A Sinner’ continues to dominate Billboard’s Emerging Artist chart for an astounding 20 straight weeks – marking the second-longest reign ever on the chart.Written by Jelly Roll with fellow Nashville native ERNEST and David Ray Stevens, the Jelly shared with Billboard his appreciation for his first #1 single at Country radio, noting “There is no greater reward for a singer and songwriter in Nashville, Tennessee than to have the #1 song on Country radio. Now, imagine that happening to a guy that grew up in this town…a guy that, at every turn the first 25 years of his life, made the wrong decision. Imagine everyone telling that guy he had no chance at Country radio. ‘You’re too overweight, you have too many tattoos, they will never let another convicted criminal on Country radio’ – now imagine Country radio proving everyone wrong and taking the chance on the song, the message and the man. If you can imagine that, then you can understand why I’m so filled with gratitude as tears stream down my face while I type this: I currently have the number 1 song on Country radio. Thank you, Country Radio and all the Streaming Partners, for making ‘Son of a Sinner’ my first #1 at Country radio. I vow to never let you down or forget the chance you gave me when everyone told you not to! I want to take a second to thank my label STONEY CREEK AND BMG — Loba and his misfits — y’all took the biggest chance. Every label in town told me I had a better chance signing with a label in LA than to ever have a chance in this town with my history — not only did that not scare BMG, it made them want to double down and go all in!”Last year ahead of his sold-out headlining date at his hometown venue, Bridgestone Arena, Jelly also shared with Billboard, “I want to keep making music that helps people,” and detailed the behind-the-scenes process of his song, ‘she’ the soul-stirring ballad that brings the hidden perils of addiction into the light. Quickly resonating with fans, ‘she’ encouraged people through the music video and Jelly’s partnership with Shatterproof to seek help with addiction and mental health. Watch the powerful video for ‘she’ HERE.Jelly’s next release from his highly anticipated forthcoming album will be ‘NEED A FAVOR,’ which dictates “the internal fight between faith and vices” (American Songwriter), impacting US radio 13 February. Ahead of its official radio release, the video for ‘NEED A FAVOR’ will premiere this Friday, 13 January, on YouTube, along with a live stream after party for fans HERE.After independently building his own fanbase, the past year has marked Jelly Roll’s biggest to date. With his two-week rock No. 1 ‘Dead Man Walking’ – his first No. 1 ever as an artist or songwriter – Jelly became the first act this decade to top the Rock charts while simultaneously having a Top 30 song on Country radio (‘Son Of A Sinner’), and he is the first artist in Billboard history to do so with debut singles. It was also just over a year ago that Jelly Roll signed with BMG and sold-out the Ryman Auditorium in under an hour, prompting an immediate invitation to the historic Opry to make his debut.

Boxes release new single ‘Devil In The Distance’

Boxes are a four piece Country Rock outfit hailing from Manchester, UK. The band have been hailed as ‘Nashville -Upon-Irwell’ as they have been likened to the country scene in the Southern states but have maintained elements of the North West of England deep within their music.  The river Irwell being the river which flows through the city they now reside in, Manchester.  After growing a following putting on live streams during the COVID 19 lockdowns the band went on to have success with their first EP ‘Why Don’t You Listen’ and their following on track ‘Over’.. Their new single ‘Over’ hit the number 1 spot on the iTunes country charts and was played on the BBC,  Country Line UK, Absolute Radio as well as many independent stations – the single even caught the attention of The Shires who highlighted Boxes as their one to watch on their Apple Music radio show. Their new single ‘Devil In The Distance’ takes on a retrospective view of hard love, going out drinking all night, getting into trouble and the anxieties driven by all these… but, at least having stories to tell from the gained experiences.  ‘I’ve never been perfect, I’ve not been close to hear angels sing’ ‘I’ve seen the night sky more than the sun, the bottom of a beer can more than my mum and i’ve heard words, that were never spoken’ ‘I’ve got stories, some a tall and some are short, but by the end of the first one you’ll want to hear them all’ There is a proud riff throughout the song which captures the emotion in the tale, one which we are hoping will become a symbol of the song.

Tyler Hubbard Releases New Track and Unofficial Video “Me For Me”

EMI Records Nashville recording artist Tyler Hubbard is gearing up for the January 27th release of his debut solo album, Tyler Hubbard, and today released a new track, “Me For Me,” which also has an accompanying unofficial music video. The song was written by Hubbard and fellow artists and friends, Russell Dickerson and Thomas Rhett, and was produced by Hubbard and Jordan Schmidt. The song highlights the beautiful parts of a relationship and loving people for who they are. “‘Me For Me’” was written with my good buddies, Russell Dickerson and Thomas Rhett. We set aside a few hours and just thought we’d see what happens. We ended up writing ‘Me For Me,’ which quickly became one of my favorites because it really felt personal and real. I love when an unexpected song falls out of thin air, especially with two of your best buds. I couldn’t wait to get into the studio with (producer) Jordan and bring the song to life.” With 20 No.1 singles on country radio, countless awards, and sold-out tours, Tyler Hubbard has already had a remarkable career as a songwriter and as one half of multi-platinum duo Florida Georgia Line. Now Hubbard is embarking on a solo career. Hubbard’s debut solo album, Tyler Hubbard, features his hit debut solo single “5 Foot 9,” which already hit No. 1 at radio, was certified Gold by the RIAA, and has nearly 270M global streams. It also features Hubbard’s current single, “Dancin’ In The Country,” which already has over 30M global streams and is now climbing the Top 40 at country radio. In anticipation of his debut solo album, this past summer Hubbard released a six-song project, Dancin’ In The Country, which debuted with over 10,000 SPS units (sales plus streaming) making it the second best-selling country EP debut of the year. It also debuted at No.1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, No. 6 on the Current Country Albums sales chart, and No. 107 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Lady Antebellum

Charles Kelley Releases “As Far As You Could”

In one of the most profound and personal moments of his career, Lady A’s Charles Kelley is today releasing his goodbye letter to alcohol, sharing the confessional “As Far As You Could.”  Aided by the gift of desperation, Kelley co-wrote the redemptive ballad after a public decision to stop drinking and begin addiction treatment. After an outpouring of support, the next months were filled with reflection, accountability, and songwriting, with the powerful “As Far As You Could” marking a turning point in Kelley’s recovery. The country star shared the track with fans before Thanksgiving, posting an unfinished demo and just before Christmas, the fully produced single was released via BMLG Records. “For me, the biggest word I’ve been holding on to is gratitude, not pride,” Kelley says of his journey so far. “I’m grateful. I finally see the light and am connecting with what life is all about. Some days are hard, but the good so outweighs those bad moments. There’s some beauty in all this and I’ve had time to reflect, time to get healthy, time to write. I’ve probably written 50 songs this fall, and I feel like all of it was leading to this one song.” Co-written and produced alongside Lady A bandmate Dave Haywood and Jimmy Robbins, the stirring ballad captures an inner conflict experienced by many, mixing sadness and serenity as Kelley recounts the steps along his path – both good and bad. Boldly honest and ending on an inspirational high, the compassionate track takes songwriting as therapy to a new level.  The single leans into the deeply-personal theme with a raw and unfiltered sound, relying on a piano played by Haywood, and a bruised-but-resilient vocal. Building in courage-swelling layers, it will now stand as a solo single from Kelley – but like his journey, it has the full support of his Lady A bandmates. Along with Haywood and Hillary Scott, the trio even considered putting their stamp on “As Far As You Could,” but ultimately thought better. “We were almost afraid that if we put a bunch of vocals on it, that might take away from the pain and authenticity of that singular vocal,” Kelley adds. “Hillary especially felt it was important for me to tell my story, kind of the same way she was able to do with ‘Thy Will.’ With their blessing, I’m putting this out, but it will live right alongside everything else we do.” According to the National Institutes of Health, about 10 percent of Americans will struggle with addiction at some point in their lives – and the ripple effects of those struggles touch almost everyone else. Ultimately, Kelley hopes sharing his story will help spread support and understanding for others.

Chase Rice to Debut New Song “I Hate Cowboys” This Friday on GMA

Written by Rice alongside HARDY, Ross Copperman and Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi, the song and corresponding visuals serve as a tongue-in-cheek ode to how effortlessly cool true cowboys really are. “When you listen to the song you of course get that I don’t actually hate cowboys – I’m really fortunate to call several of them great friends,” emphasizes Rice. “But damn, doesn’t it make you crazy when Mr. Steal Your Girl kicks open the door — with that hat and those Wranglers, and he can two-step better than you, talk cooler than you? ‘I Hate Cowboys’ is an ode to the fact that just like Taylor Sheridan writes in ‘Yellowstone,’ if it were easier everyone would cowboy…hell, I wish I could!” I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell ranges from emotional reckoning to this admiration of a Western way of life evidenced in the title track, and also includes recent releases “Key West & Colorado” and “Way Down Yonder” plus a reimagined album version of “If I Were Rock & Roll.” Rice serves as a writer on all 13 tracks, including three solo writes, and the project honors his late father, Daniel Rice, with its cover art. Rice will also bring the new music to fans on his headlining Way Down Yonder Tour this spring, visiting several iconic theaters such as Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre with special guests Avery Anna, Tyler Braden, Ashland Craft, Dalton Dover, Kameron Marlowe, Read Southall Band and Conner Smith across varying dates. Ashley McBryde Brings LINDEVILLE to Life in New Video

Up for two GRAMMY Awards including Best Country Album for her critically-acclaimed Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, the Arkansas-native brings the everytown character-laden opening track, “Brenda Put Your Bra On,” to life with its new music video, HERE, featuring album collaborators Pillbox Patti and Caylee Hammack.  Lauded by Slate as one of the best records of 2022, McBryde – and cast – dodge flying objects as Brenda takes her revenge in a video directed by ACM Award Winner Reid Long. “As soon as we recorded this song, we knew we wanted to make a video for it,” McBryde reflects. “It’s the start of the action in Lindeville. There were a lot of ways we could have shot the video, yet Reid had the idea to capture all the insanity and drama in one continuous take, which feels very in tune with the spirit of this entire project…,” before the ACM and CMA Award winner laughingly adds, “how Lindeville of us!” “One of Lindeville’s highlights,” says the Los Angeles Times, “a sparse acoustic number that alternates detailed verses about a club’s various habitués with a moving chorus.” That chorus “is crucial,” asserts PASTE, “because it makes explicit the project’s unifying theme: Everyone is flawed, and everyone is worthy of love and respect despite those flaws. Perhaps we should spend less time hiding our sins and weaknesses, and more time forgiving the same in others.” Marking her third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, following Warner Music Nashville’s Girl Going Nowhere in 2018 and Never Will in 2020, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville was produced by John Osborne and features performances from Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Aaron Raitiere, Patti, Hammack and Benjy Davis. Landing on Rolling Stone’s all-genre “The 100 Best Albums of 2022,” the project brings them all together “to spin stories of small-town life both heartbreaking and hilarious.” McBryde is also GRAMMY nominated for No. 1 duet and co-write with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.”  McBryde’s 2022 wrapped with her induction as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, and in 2023, the Arkansas native invites all to the revered Ryman Auditorium to experience Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville Live, featuring the cast of collaborators and special guests performing songs from her critically acclaimed album, February 15 and 16. Tickets are available at AshleyMcBryde.com.
