Matt Stell

Matt Stell is One of Us with Anticipated EP

Catapulting onto the Country music scene as a “thoughtful songwriter and equally compelling artist,” according to American Songwriter, with the back-to-back #1s of 2X PLATINUM smash “Prayed For You” and GOLD “Everywhere But On,” RECORDS Nashville MULTI-PLATINUM artist Matt Stell “finds his lane” with EP, ONE OF US, available today (2/10) across all streaming platforms and digital retailers. Listen here.Speaking exclusively with American Songwriter, Stell digs deep into the fabric of the American heartland on the six-track collection. Pushing beyond catchy hooks and twangy trends, it’s a hard-hitting project with a gentle heart, as it’s packed with insight and intelligence, passionate vocals, and smart turns-of-phrase. Chest-thumping hell-raisers drive down memory-lane ballads, as ringing acoustic guitars and punching digital beats combine to showcase a life lived on Country terms – and all with a deep sense of respect. An Arkansas native, Stell slips easily back into his roots for ONE OF US, matching lived experience with universal truth. Three tunes were co-written by Stell with hitmakers Jessie Jo Dillon, Chase McGill, Randy Montana, and more, while others were sourced from the likes of Michael Hardy and Tyler Hubbard. Exploring themes like aching hearts and nights that hurt so good, or big dreams that drive small-town kids from home, featured songs include Stell’s latest single “Man Made,” hard-rocking power ballad “One Of Us,” and a jacked-up romance in “Shut The Truck Up” – which MusicRow hails, “Stell has always been a fine country communicator, and this well-constructed song gives him another worthy platform.” Each one reveals something different, and Stell approaches it all with genuine sincerity, plus a thickly layered modern-Country sound of his own design.

Darius Rucker Releases Powerful Rendition of “Lift Me Up”

Showcasing the rich baritone celebrated by Billboard as “one of the most distinctive voices of country’s modern era,” Diamond-certified star Darius Rucker offers a powerful take on Rihanna’s Oscar-nominated “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” theme song, “Lift Me Up,” with his version of the anthemic ballad available everywhere now. Listen HERE.   Written by Rihanna together with filmmaker Ryan Coogler, composer Ludwig Göransson and Nigerian singer Tems as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who starred in the original “Black Panther,” the song plays over the end credits of the film, which is where Rucker first fell in love with its message.   “I’ve been a huge fan of comics since I was a kid, and I love all of the Marvel movies, so I couldn’t wait to see ‘Wakanda Forever’ when it came out a few months ago,” explains Rucker. “I was so moved by this song playing at the end of the movie and I felt inspired to try my hand at singing it. I hope y’all love this version we created as much as I do.”   The release comes as Rucker puts the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, Carolyn’s Boy, and follows the news earlier this week that his Riverfront Revival Music Festival will return to Charleston this fall for its second year, with lineups for the October 7-8 event to be announced soon. Early access tickets are available now via RiverfrontRevival.com.

Comedian Henry Cho was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry family tonight by his friend and Opry favorite Vince Gill. Gill said to Cho, “I just want to say congrats. And to encourage you to come out here. That’s the best thing you can do for us and that’s why you are becoming a member; because you show up. And when we’re laughing there’s nothing wrong in this world.” Gill then called out Opry members John Conlee, Ben Isaacs, Don Schlitz and Steve Wariner to join him for the induction moment. After presenting Cho with an Opry Member Award, Gill closed, “What you get from this place is friendships, and those will mean more than the funniest joke you will ever write or the biggest hit we will ever have. So welcome to our family.” As the crowd rose to its feet Cho said, “Thank y’all. For all of you that stood up, I hope you get out of here quickly and the ones that didn’t, I hope you get stuck in traffic. This is a great honor, and I can’t even put it into words. To have my pal Vince do this induction means the world to me. I want to thank my family and thank God- well kinda not in that order. Thank-you Grand Ole Opry.” “The Opry is going to be stronger, better, and funnier with Henry as an official member,” said Dan Rogers, Opry VP and Executive Producer. “We’re thrilled our dear friend is family.” Cho, along with Comedian Gary Mule Deer, was surprised in January with an invitation to join the Opry by member Marty Stuart. The two comedians have each played the Opry more than 100 times and are the first comedians to be inducted as members of the Opry since comedian Jerry Clower became an Opry member nearly 50 years ago. Elles Bailey releases new single!

Elles Bailey may well have picked up two awards from the prestigious UK Americana 2023 Awards (the highly coveted Artist of the Year Award and the very first Live Act of the Year Award and have been shortlisted for 3 awards at the forthcoming UK Blues Awards 2023  but she’s not standing  still, basking in acclaim: this ever-creative, hardworking, genre-topping artist is moving forwards and releasing fresh material. Elles  releases her brand-new single ‘Hole in my Pocket’, taken from the Deluxe edition of her chart-topping album ‘Shining In The Half Light’: a new edition due out on 17th March. ‘Hole in my Pocket’ premiered on Radio 2 this week and is a blues-inspired roots rocker, suffused with Motown bass lines and marinated in soulful guitar riffs & gospel-inspired backing vocals that show just how perfectly Ms Bailey blurs and transcends the over-tidy picket fences between blues, roots rock and Americana. Elles wrote the song with Matt Owens (co-founder of indie kids Noah and the Whale) and the track was co-produced by Elles Bailey, Peter Miles and Elles’ touring band: Joe Wilkins on guitar; Jonny Henderson on ivories’ Matthew Waer on bass duties; and Matthew Jones on drums. “What a year, what a story, what an epic journey!” says Elles, “Thank-you for joining me on it. So many of you have asked for a deluxe version of ‘Shining in the Half Light’ including some live tracks from the record’s playlist. So, I got the whole cast together to record 5 of the tracks live at The Pool. It has been the one and only time we have been able to get the Shining in the Half Light crew all together in one room: a very special moment indeed, particularly in light of the experiences of the last few years. But it felt like it wasn’t enough; that we still had more of the story to tell.  “To do that, the band and I headed back to Devon in December 2022 — to Middle Farm Studios – exactly two years to date since the original recording —and there we tracked two new originals and two covers. These we recorded and mixed live to tape with no computers at all: a complete first for me and part of a beautiful learning curve.  “I think these tracks showcase this incredible band at their finest. It was a real blessing to make these tracks all together. It wasn’t about creating a ‘perfect’ recording, but about capturing a little spark of musical magic. I can’t wait for you to hear them’ ‘Hole in my Pocket is now available to download or stream from all digital platforms HERE Check out the video for Hole In My Pocket HERE Shining In The Half Light’ Deluxe will be released and available on all digital platforms and on CD on 17th March, 2023 The album will be available to Pre-order on Monday 13th Feb, at 7pm  www.ellesbaileypreorder.com  Tour Dates MARCH 2023 3rd – The Globe, Cardiff4th  – The Phoenix, Exeter9th – O2 Academy 2, Liverpool10th – The Social, Hull11th – The Firestation, Sunderland14th – KK’s Steel Mill, Wolverhampton 15th – The Crescent Arts Centre, York16th – The Caves, Edinburgh17th – The Brudenell Social Club, Leeds  (co-headline with Chantel McGregor)21st – Komedia, Brighton22nd – Junction 2, Cambridge 23rd – 1865, Southampton APRIL1st – Lafayette, London14th – Arlington Arts, Newbury15th – Trinity Centre, Bristol MAY 18th – Rescue Room, Nottingham 19th – Sheffield, Corporation

Jess Moskaluke Releases Tongue-In-Cheek Breakup Anthem

Platinum-selling, country music star Jess Moskaluke is kicking off the new year sharing her brand new single “Not What Ya Think” available now via MDM Recordings Inc / Universal Music Canada. Jess hones her songwriting skills throughout the track, with clever tongue-in-cheek lyrics that are playfully optimistic. She turns the tables on a breakup anthem with a track that proves not everything is always what you think.  Message From Jess Moskaluke “’Not What Ya Think’ is a fun and energetic musical reminder that you don’t always have to be heartbroken to find yourself enjoying a drink. It’s my ode to Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain”, in the sense that in this story, the ex thinks I’m missing him so I show up at the bar to drown out my sorrows…but, it’s not what he thinks. Hope you love it!”
