Country 2 Country adds to the 10-year anniversary line up

With a few months to go until the 10-year celebration; Country to Country is pleased to announce the second wave of incredible artists appearing next year’s festival. Australian singer/songwriter Morgan Evans will be joining the world class line up of the 2023 Festival. The announcement follows an extraordinary few years for the Australian born country music superstar. This year Morgan released single ‘Over For You’, his most vulnerable song to date, following latest EP ‘The Country And The Coast Side A’, which builds from the foundation Evans created with his debut album ‘Things That We Drink To’. The album arrived straight in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and cemented his status as a global country force, singer / songwriter, and entertainer. Also confirmed are the powerhouse artists for CMA Presents Introducing Nashville – which introduces for the first time Tyler Braden, Caylee Hammack and Alana Springsteen to UK fans.  Introducing Nashville provides a platform for new artists to reach international audiences.  In a Nashville-style songwriters round the artists will take the C2C stage together in an acoustic line-up to share the stories behind their songs. Finally, the taste-making Spotlight Stage returns to both London and Glasgow. Situated in the main arena, the Spotlight Stage hosts performances in between main stage sets, showcasing even more incredible talent. In 2023, fans will see intimate performances from Amanda Shires, Ashley Cooke, Corey Kent, Drake Milligan, Elvie Shane, Kameron Marlowe, MacKenzie Porter, Madeline Edwards and Sam Williams. Homegrown star Kezia Gill will make a special appearance on the Glasgow Spotlight Stage only. Check out the full line up details below*. These newly announced artists join world-renowned superstars Zac Brown Band, Thomas Rhett and Lady A plus Nashville’s hottest artists Midland, Jordan Davis, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lainey Wilson and Mitchell Tenpenny alongside prolific performers Lindsay Ell and Matt Stell. In London the unstoppable Breland will open C2C on the Friday night and will co-host the festival across the weekend with the legendary Bob Harris OBE.  Country to Country; Europe’s biggest country music festival has become a staple in the UK festival calendar and has brought country music to the UK and Ireland masses, with tens of thousands of fans attending each year. The festival continuously hosts the best in country music and entertainment, bringing over the world’s best country stars as well as emerging talent from Nashville, UK and Europe. Roland E-X50 Arranger Keyboard

The new Roland E-X50 is a feature packed keyboard for music arrangers and live performance.  The E-X50 has a pair of onboard Stereo speakers for quality sound output.  It has 61 keys, 689 tones, 256 note polyphony, 18 drum sets, Bluetooth connectivity and built-in Effects.  The Roland Acoustic pianos that are contained in the E-X50 sound stunning and Bluetooth allows you to jam to favourite songs, play to tracks or take lessons.  With the dual speakers you can use the Roland as your music entertainment centre when you aren’t playing and there is a microphone input also.  The 300 presets are easy to access thanks to the LED screen at the top of the keyboard and light up soft buttons.  For beginning and intermediate musicians, the E-X50 provides Auto Bass Chord mode to achieve arrangements with only one or two fingers.  Other connectivity on the back of the keyboard includes a USB port, USB memory port for flash drives and stereo outputs to send your sound to a PA system or amp.  Style Converter software lets you create 30 different custom styles with windows or Mac and load them into the E-X50 memory to access.  The USB memory port makes it simple to record your original or cover songs to a flash drive.  My favourite features of the Roland E-X50 are the auto-accompaniment, large LED screen, mic input and the Bluetooth connectivity.  This arranger keyboard is aimed at intermediate musicians but can honestly do much more than that and a very reasonable price point. The keys feel great and access to all the sounds and beats are easy to achieve through the light up soft pad configuration.  If you’re ready to step up your keyboard game the Roland E-X50 is worth your consideration!  www.roland.com  READ MORE ‘TOOLS OF THE TRADE’ IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF MAVERICK AVAILABLE HERE! HUSH-I Silent Guitar

Musicians need to practice and play guitar daily, but that isn’t easy to achieve when we need to practice quietly and not bother others.  The new Donner HUSH-I Silent guitar is designed so that you can plug in the included earbuds or your own headphones into the guitar and only hear yourself while playing.  What makes the HUSH-I great is that it secures into an ultra-small footprint gig bag that can fit on an airplane, your car, or any tight space.  The leg rest and top bout of the guitar are made of metal and attach with a magnetic Hex wrench that fits into the back body of the guitar.  This is a headless guitar so that you can hang it on a wall by the top metal frame.  The strings feed in reverse with the ball ends at the top and the end of the strings at the bottom where the machine heads are located.  The body and neck are constructed of Mahogany wood and the neck has a flat profile that feels great in your hands.  Electronics wise the Piezo pickup is built into the bridge and the Phase; Volume and two band EQ are on the top of the body.  The strap buttons are located on the back of the neck and at the input jack on the bottom.  The HUSH-I plays incredible and sounds great plugged into an amplifier or PA system.  The only challenging part is using the Hex wrench for the tuning machine heads at the bottom of the guitar, but it does hold tune very well thanks to the bone nut and HPL fretboard.  For the playability, sound quality and features you can’t beat the Donner HUSH-I for the price, and it includes strap, Hex wrench, picks, tuner and earbuds!   www.donnermusic.com  READ MORE ‘TOOLS OF THE TRADE’ IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF MAVERICK AVAILABLE HERE! Sarah Reeves releases duet of Winter Wonderland

Curb | Word Entertainment recording artist and songwriter Sarah Reeves transforms “Winter Wonderland” into a Christmas duet with soulful singer and “American Idol” finalist Clark Beckham. Together, the two artists trade vocals on the holiday standard. Following Reeves’ Big Band version of “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” release of the timeless classic unwraps the next sampling of fresh holiday music leading up to the Holiday season.“‘Winter Wonderland’ is one of the first songs I play every year at the beginning of the Christmas season,” shares Reeves. “It is simple, classic, and I was so excited to record my own version. I asked my friend, who is an incredible artist named Clark Beckham, to join me on this song. He was the perfect addition. I hope this song brings a magical feeling of warmth and nostalgia this Christmas.”Earlier this summer, Reeves dropped a poignant original track, “Best Days.” She takes the position of the eternal optimist on “Best Days.” Her soaring range shines across a galloping melody as she stretches herself vocally while carefully harnessing a sonically textured anthem full of lush, stacked vocals. Confident there’s a bright future in store, Reeves asks listeners to consider the possibility that the best is yet to come. While the songwriter doesn’t dismiss hardship, she promises a silver lining is right around the corner, posing the question: What if the best days are ahead of us?For the remainder of the year, Reeves will focus on sharing seasonal selections as she prepares for the release of More The Merrier 12” Vinyl album. The holiday set combines the unmistakable vintage charm of Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole with the warmth and nostalgia of the Vince Guaraldi Trio, allowing the revered songstress to experiment in the studio where she tracked her vocals alongside live horns and lush strings on four originals and four holiday favorites.

Rising-G Pro Carbon Fibre Guitar

Donner instruments recently released the new Rising-G Pro Carbon Fibre travel guitar that has an all-carbon one-piece body.  The parametric sound hole, which is located on the upper bout of the body makes it easy for musicians to hear what they are playing.  I was surprised at the fullness of sound and projection emitting from a travel size guitar.  Besides the sound hole placement, carbon fiber construction and rounded edges back of body I believe the added sound comes from the A frame style bracing of the top.  The one-piece HPL fingerboard contains nicely rounded frets, and the machine heads are mini sized but work efficiently.  The top of the guitar is black carbon fibre whilst you can choose the back colour in Cloud White, Carbon Dark, Apricot Yellow, or Sky Blue as the one we tested.  The smooth satin finish on the back of the body and neck makes the Rising-G Pro acoustic guitar a pleasure to play with no hand fatigue whatsoever.  The guitar comes with a well-constructed gig bag and player kit that includes a manual, capo, guitar strap, tuner, guitar picks and an Allen wrench for adjustments.  The cutaway on the Rising-G Pro guitar makes playing up the neck a breeze.  Everyone that saw it displaced in the Maverick Country offices wanted to grab it, play it, and were surprised that it was a carbon fibre guitar.  The only addition I would make to this Donner instrument would be an internal pickup so that you can plug in and play to amplify the sound at jam sessions.  This would be a perfect songwriter guitar to take to co-writes or songwriter rounds since the carbon fiber construction is impervious to weather changes.  I’m a fan of the Donner Rising-G Pro Guitar.  www.donnermusic.com  READ MORE ‘TOOLS OF THE TRADE’ IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF MAVERICK AVAILABLE HERE! FOR KING + COUNTRY release double vinyl Christmas album

Four-time GRAMMY® award-winning Australian duo and Curb | Word Entertainment recording artist FOR KING + COUNTRY, releases its full-length 12” Double Vinyl, 180 Gram Christmas album A Drummer Boy Christmas, out now. Click HERE to listen to A Drummer Boy Christmas, and click HERE to watch the official music video for “Little Drummer Boy.” Joel Smallbone, one half of FOR KING + COUNTRY, shares his thoughts on the album release: “This album has been eight years in the making. It all started in an old factory on a dreary 2012 autumn night where we dreamt up our rendition of “Little Drummer Boy.” And from that day to this, and with a load Christmas tours, singles and EPs under our belt, we’ve fallen in love with this miraculous season and it’s been written into the band’s DNA. “So, when the hardship of 2020 took hold of the world, we thought that it would be the imperfectly perfect year to put together our first ever full-length Christmas record. And what a recording journey it’s been, and an international one at that, from producers (Matt Hales) in Bath, England, to string orchestration (Davide: Coldplay) in Copenhagen, to recording with our live band in Nashville or mixing in London – this album has truly been a global creation. A Drummer Boy Christmas debuted on the iTunes charts at No. 4 overall and No. 1 on the Holiday chart. The song ‘Little Drummer Boy’ has over 100 Million streams. Joining FOR KING + COUNTRY on their milestone 18 -track double vinyl album is the award-winning band NEEDTOBREATHE – featured on “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” and rising star Gabby Barrett – featured on “Go Tell It On The Mountain.” The collection also features two original Christmas songs entitled “Heavenly Hosts” and an emotionally moving ballad from Joseph’s perspective entitled “The Carol of Joseph (I Believe In You).” Known for their explosive and unique live rendition of the Christmas staple “Little Drummer Boy,” Joel and Luke Smallbone of FOR KING + COUNTRY implement that same energy into the totality of A Drummer Boy Christmas. Previously, FOR KING + COUNTRY’s drive-in concert in Spring Hill, Tennessee, raised over $50,000 for The Well Outreach, a local food pantry, and meal distribution initiative. The duo’s previous upcoming tour A Drummer Boy Christmas supported The Salvation Army along with their Rescue Christmas initiative.
